Goldmine – The Music Collector Magazine

” Slinky Vagabond returned in 2025 with their sophomore effort, The Eternal Return — an incredible continuation of the monument that was their debut… The Eternal Return, is chock full some of the best material the band has ever conceived, all over an eleven-track song sequence, compiling the totality of the album’s musical treasures…. To date, six weeks into the new year, this record has landed as one of my top albums for 2025, so far, hands down.”

The members of Slinky Vagabond have a rich history of working within music, without actually working as musicians. However, their professional musical endeavors are equally on par with their non-musical curricular positions within the entertainment industry … let me explain.

Slinky Vagabond is the duo comprised of Italian guitarist/producer/composer, Fabio Fabbri, and British vocalist/songwriter, Keanan Duffty.  Outside of their musical fortes, Duffty has, over decades, excelled as a world-class fashion designer, providing visually impacting clothing designs and fashion consultation for the likes of the Sex Pistols, David Bowie and Gwen Stefani.

Fabbri co-hosted a television show titled ‘Guitar Games’ which broadcast on the country’s equivalent to MTV (Videomusic), as well as supporting the show as a session guitarist.  As well, some years later, he provided consulting and taught courses on ‘music branding’ for many music companies and institutions including the Fashion at the Polimoda International Fashion Institute, where he and Duffty became closely acquainted for the first time in 2017.

With regard to music, both, individually, hold long and fruitful histories as recording artists and performers.  Keagan Duffty, along side musical partners, Glen Matlock, Earl Slick and Clem Burke of Sex Pistols; David Bowie/John Lennon; and Blondie fame, respectively, co-formed the first manifestation of Slinky Vagabond in 2007, and though performed together as a band, never cut an album with this line-up.

The second incarnation of Slinky Vagabond was manifest between both Duffty and Fabbri subsequent to their 2017 new found partnership, and would ultimately write, produce and record their first full-length album one half decade later.  Fabbri’s professional musical endeavors stem from far before the Slinky Vagabond project.

Fabio Fabbri has been writing, producing and playing lead guitar for many ensembles over the past 40 years. The artist’s first official release into the musical ethers, was “Nobody’s Bride” (1985, Many Records), by the Italian synth-pop band, Peggy & the Pills (which he co-founded with model, Peggy Richardson). Further along, he would release his first solo effort through Polygram Records in the early ’90s, as well as 20 years subsequent, would go on to help form the band, General Stratocaster and the Marshals, with which he released four studio recordings between 2011 and 2019.

After both artist’s initial coming-together as the current incarnation of Slinky Vagabond, the duo would release their recorded debut, King Boy Vandals (2021 Ma.Ra.Cash Records), which included a supporting band line-up of many legendary musicians, namely Midge Ure (Ultravox, Visage, Thin Lizzy), Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses, Psychedelic Furs), David Torn (David Bowie, David Sylvian) Martin Turner (Wishbone Ash) Tony Bowers (Simply Red), and Dave Formula (Visage).

The album received critical acclaim via many notable music and editorial publications being deemed by one as “one of the most notable albums of 2021.”  Slinky Vagabond returned in 2025 with their sophomore effort, The Eternal Return — an incredible continuation of the monument that was their debut.

The album continues in the band’s tradition of utilizing assistance from some of the most notable names in rock and pop music.  Icons to be found contributing to the band’s brilliance on this album,  are none other than the likes of the illustrious Mike Garson (David Bowie), Dom Beken (Saucerful of Secrets), Ava Cherry ( David Bowie, Luther Vandross) Percy Jones (Brand X), and Christian Dryden (The Ritualists). As a bonus attraction, Earl Slick (The Yardbirds, The New York Dolls) and Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols) appear as co-writers on two of the album’s greatest productions.  The Eternal Return is an unadulteratedly incredible second effort by the band, and Goldmine has pleasingly been made privy to exposing you to its nooks and crannies.
