Fabio Fabbri is an innovative musician, composer, and multi-instrumentalist.
His work bridges genres and transcends traditional musical boundaries. Renowned for his versatility and collaborative spirit, Fabio has become a dynamic presence on the contemporary music scene.
Fabio Fabbri began playing guitar in 1971 . During his formative years he founded, performed and recorded with numerous rock groups, first with the band ‘Peggy and the Pills’ in 1985, co-writing the single “Nobody’s Bride” with the fashion model Peggy Richardson.
1990-1991
Fabbri worked with the premier Italian music channel Videomusic, co-hosting the show ‘Guitar Games’ with VJ Rick Hutton. Fabbri continued collaborating with Videomusic as session guitarist on a live tour in Italy along with Rick Hutton and Clive Griffiths called “Plastic – Replastic” promoting the recycling of plastic waste.
In 1991 PolyGram launched Fabio Fabbri’s first solo album “Per una volta tanto”. Fabbri wrote the music and most of the lyrics and was both the singer and the guitarist. The album was supported with an intensive period of concerts, radio interviews and tv appearances. Critics noted that “The album distanced itself from the Italian songwriting style, bringing into the Italian music scene sounds of Anglo-American rock roots”.
During the nineties his interest in music met fashion. Fabio Fabbri started to collaborate with the Coveri Fashion Maison and in 1993 he participated at the fashion show in Paris for Coveri, playing his Stratocaster along with two important members of Vasco Rossi’s band.
Fabio Fabbri has, however, continued to expand his interests in many other musical fields.
2000
Fabio started working in music branding for different companies and public institutions, creating musical tracks as director of the Music Branding division of the marketing company “Open Up Consulting s.r.l”.
In that role he composed the soundtrack for “Toscana Energia Gas Company” , “Airone Blu”, played and recorded by the prestigious Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 2012.
2010
Fabio Fabbri, along with Jacopo Meille, Richard Ursillo and Alessandro Nutini cofounded the rock band General Stratocaster and the Marshals and the Marshals.
With this band he performed in three editions of Pistoia Blues International (2010, 2011, 2014).
With General Stratocuster and the Marshals he has released 4 studio albums.
2017-2018
In 2017 Fabio Fabbri taught a course in Music Branding for Fashion at the Polimoda International Fashion Institute, where he met Keanan Duffty at a special lecture that Duffty gave alongside Sex Pistols founder and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Glen Matlock. Fabbri suggested a collaboration with Duffty at Fabbri’s own Wolf Mountain Recording Studio. Their first recording was a cover of the Spandau Ballet track “To Cut a Long Story Short”, which songwriter Gary Kemp complimented on Twitter.
One of Fabio’s most notable achievements is his work with the critically acclaimed art-rock band Slinky Vagabond. Founded by renowned musician Keanan Duffty, the project merges avant-garde aesthetics with innovative songwriting, creating music that defies convention. Fabio joined Slinky Vagabond as a core member, bringing his distinctive musical voice to the group’s genre-defying sound.
2021
2021 saw the release of “King Boy Vandals” which Forbes’ David Chiu highlighted as one of the “notable albums of 2021” along with Duran Duran’s “Future Past”, Gary Kemp’s “INSOLO” and David Bowie’s posthumous release “Toy”.
Always with an eye on the future Fabbri continues to develop innovative musical ideas, working collaboratively and experimenting artistically in order to create beautifully melodic music that respects the heritage of rock and roll.

2025
In 2025, Slinky Vagabond is set to release their new album “ The Eternal Return”, a project that promises to push artistic boundaries even further.
Featuring Fabio’s contributions as a composer, instrumentalist, and producer, the album blends bold experimentation with emotional storytelling. Many artists collaborated on this album : Mike Garson (David Bowie), Dom Beken ( Saucerful of Secrets), Ava Cherry ( David Bowie, Luther Vandross) Percy Jones (Brand X) Christian Dryden (The Ritualists). Earl Slick and Glen Matlock have co-written two songs.
